During the golden age of Danish design, Svenn Eske Kristensen drew up this functionalist building in the late 1940’s as a Domus Optica erected for Danish manufacturer of scientific instruments, Cornelius Knudsen. Shortly after completion, the building was even premiered by the Municipality of Copenhagen, and though Cornelius Knudsen vacated the premises long ago, the building appears true to the architect’s original intentions.
Featuring a split-level shop, the sales floor stretches accross more than 200 m² with an additional area for back-of-house facilities such as staff-rooms and storage. The premises are beautifully equipped by French retailer Sandro, who will leave the premises as pictured, hence this is an opportunity to enter a nicely fitted store among strong international retailers, which includes Dr. Martens in Købmagergade 13, opened in September 2023, New Balance in Købmagergade 22, opened in September 2024, and COS in Købmagergade 11, who is expected to open by spring next year, 2025.
