The corner of Dalle Valle can now finally reopen

The seven-story functionalist building was constructed between 1928 and 1933 and designed by the renowned Danish architects Vilhelm Lauritzen and Frits Schlegel.
When it was completed in 1933, the property originally housed the iconic department store Daells Varehus, which operated until its closure in 1999.

Following an extensive renovation, the building reopened in 2003 as Hotel Sankt Petri. The transformation preserved key architectural features and was led by Erik Møller Arkitekter, who also designed the spacious retail units on the ground floor.

Now, a new chapter begins as the building is transformed into 1 Hotel Copenhagen – part of the globally recognized luxury hotel brand, known for its focus on sustainability and nature-inspired design. With locations across North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, 1 Hotel Copenhagen is expected to open in September 2025.

The ground floor of the building stretches from Nørregade, around the corner to Krystalgade, and further along to Fiolstræde, and includes two available retail units. One comprises 318 m² at ground level, while the other offers 456 m² – both with associated basement areas.

Fiolstræde is a charming pedestrian street known for its antiquarian bookshops, cozy cafés, and lively atmosphere. The street connects to Jorcks Passage, which attracts approximately 4 million visitors annually, and Nørreport Station – one of Denmark’s busiest transport hubs with over 30 million annual passengers. This ensures a constant flow of people past the retail units.

Just a few steps away lies Krystalgade, which is increasingly developing into a hotspot for designer boutiques and local restaurants. The area borders Nørregade and Købmagergade – one of Copenhagen’s most famous shopping streets, home to international brands, the iconic Illum department store, and the historic observatory tower, Rundetårn.

Both units benefit from excellent visibility along the façade and high foot traffic.
