For more than a decade, the Royal Household’s glovemaker, N. F. Larsen, had his shop at Købmagergade 7 – a beautiful building from the early 18th century, which today is preserved to the greatest possible extent and still showcases the opulent interior of the past.
With the building’s history in mind, it hardly comes as a surprise that the premises are listed, and thus handed over to the tenant with an exquisite interior that money can no longer buy. Across the street from Rimowa’s store in the department store Illum lies this small historical unit in a large, modern world.
Købmagergade stretches from the Stork Fountain on Amagertorv to the transport hub at Nørreport Station and offers everything from strong Danish retailers to international high-end brands. The street has a relatively luxurious character, especially near Amagertorv, where Louis Vuitton and Prada are located on each corner of Købmagergade, and directly opposite Købmagergade 7 is the exclusive department store Illum – home to international luxury brands such as Celine, Balenciaga, Valentino, and Zegna.
